Inverted Trainer Type - A Pokemon Meme

My first update for the year is something a bit different from usual. With the turn of the year, I turned my thoughts and brainstorming towards pokemon, as it is how I got started here on DA, and never fails to inspire me with either pokemon lore itself or amazing fan creations. I came up with a simple idea that, as far as I know, hasn't become a thing yet, and it's gotten interest from everyone I've mentioned it to, so I want to share it with all of you.

Take a Pokemon Gym Leader or Trainer Class, swap their type to an opposite, and redesign them.

^ Is the core. To help demonstrate the guidelines, we'll use the ever popular Tomboyish Mermaid, Misty, to help us out.

1. change the trainer's type to one they are super effective against. Such turning Misty from a Water-Type trainer to a Fire-Type trainer.
2. Alternatively, you can change their type to one they are weak against, and we'd turn Misty from a Water-Type trainer to an Electric-Type trainer.
3. In event of a character with more story or personality, switch that personality completely. In the anime, Misty loved Water pokemon, and hated bug pokemon, so she becomes a trainer of Bug-pokemon that doesn't like Water-pokemon instead. 

These are some simple general guidelines to get you started, and beyond that, there is a lot of room to play with the idea.
This can be as simple as a What-If,
as kinky as brainwashing,
or with sufficient iterations, the creation of an entirely new character.

At the very least, enjoy it as something fun, to help you get creative.
