The sisterhood of the heart.
A cult found deep in the limestone caves beneath the sands of the Cirrian desert. Lead by the serpentine women known as Lamia and whispered to be mastered by an ageless gorgon, the sisterhood believes that their species were once powerful magical beings, and seek to transform themselves and revert back to these ancient forms, or failing that, serving them.
They speak of old times, when the world was a single whole, and the mothers of the Lamia were great beasts of the earth, fearsome wurms that ruled and ravaged kingdoms, places turned to immortal stone, or swallowed and born anew, obedient to their new mother.
They speak of the Fae, who were wild, mercurial, creatures of beautiful madness. They lived in another realm, and for them all they saw was a dream to mold as they wished, all their secret game, all other creatures toys for their amusement.
For a long time the sisterhood has existed in secret, claiming elvish slaves from the desert, willing servants that seek them out, fellow sisters among the elves that seek to shed themselves and become more. Though the tests are secret, the sisterhood embraces all.
It is said that the cult mother loves art, and the precious, timeless things of the earth. That slaves dance chained in gold, entranced by priceless jewels with minds fogged and flesh fired by the scent of secret drugs and incenses unknown. They serve the cultists in carved chambers, hoping for the highest honor, to capture the cult-mother's eye and gain immortality as art.
How many pirates and treasure hunters, blinded by gold, now writhe in ecstasy without memory of the sun. How many young heroines, faced with trails, are seduced by serpentine whispers of secret power? How many cirrans live two lives of day and night, above and below the earth?

So, this wasn't exactly what I was planning on posting, but still grappling with some distractions. So today will be some fluff and concepts that I produced some time ago for Squid Ops.
